In the paper, red fescue(Featua rubra L.),a cold-season-type lawn grass that belong to festuca genus, grew naturally.Their proline and soluble sugar content were determined at regular intervals. The results showed that the content of the soluble sugar and the free proline in vivo decreased gradually in spring and increased gradually in autumn. The air temperature at taking sample had significant negative correlation with the soluble sugar content, but inconspicuous correlation with the proline content.
