New INBA Slag Washing Technology: Energy Conservation and Environment Protection

Zhang Yongzhong (Ironmaking Plant,Baosteel Branch,Shanghai 200941,China)
The process flow of the new INBA slag washing technology is introduced. This technology's water slag steam condensing recycling process is systematically expounded through comparison between the new and old INBA technologies and on the basis of experience from the field production. This technology has not only solved the problem, the effect of great deal of harmful steam produced during slag washing on the environment, which greatly relieved environment burden, but also cut down water consumption per ton of pig-iron by recycling the condensed water. The new technology has also optimized the process in the water quenching area, lowered labor intensity, investment cost and hidden danger of safety meanwhile it has increased the water quenching ratio. Some weak points of this technology, such as higher capital construction and operation cost, are pointed out in this paper.
