Preparation of Fe_2O_3/Al Nanocomposite by Sol-gel Method

Fe2O3/Al nanocomposite was prepared by sol-gel method and vacuum drying method.The structure and performance of raw material and product were characterized by IR,SEM,XRD and BET.The results show the mean macro-particle size of Fe2O3/Al nanocomposite is 2μm,nano-aluminum powder uniformly distributes in the Fe2O3 gel system,whose mean size is 40nm.The specific surface area is 64.6m2/g for Fe2O3 xerogel,and 1.1m2/g for Fe2O3/Al xerogel.The impact sensitivity results show that the characteristic height H50 of modified nano-Al rises from 30.5cm to 100.3cm,revealing that the Fe2O3 gel can decrease the impact sensitivity of nano-Al.
