Study on the Preparation Technique of Nitroform with High Security

BI Fu-qiang,WANG Bo-zhou,WANG Xi-jie,GE Zhong-xue,XIONG Cun-liang(Xi′an Modern Chemistry Research Institute,Xi′an 710065,China)  
4,6-Dihydroxypyrimidine(DHP) was prepared via cyclocondensation and dimethyl malonate and formamide as raw materials.Nitroform(NF) was obtained via nitration-hydrolysis reaction of DHP.The structure of NF was characterized by means of UV,1 HNMR,13CNMR,FT-IR and MS.The mechanism of the nitration-hydrolysis reaction was discussed.The results showed that for up to 80.1% yield,the optimal reaction conditions were: the molar ratio of nitric acid to DHP as 5∶1,the mole ratio of sulfuric acid to nitric acid as 3.5∶1.0.reaction temperature 45℃ and reaction time 2 h.A safe method to isolate NF was discussed.Hydrazinium nitroformate(HNF) with purity of 98.9% was synthesized using NF prepared under the optimized conditions as raw material.
