Measuring the Total Contents of Curcumin with Spectrophotometry and Methodological Observation

This experiment aims to study the measurement of the total contents of curcumin ln turmerol extract and its pharmaceutics and methodological observation. Take sample at A 426~429nm where curcumin and its homologen have an absorptive summit and directly make a colorimetric determination. This method is easy to control, has good correlation, its R0. 9995 - the lineal range is 1. 25 ~ 6. 25ug/ml. By several repeating measurement of turmerol extract and its capsule, the reproducibility (RSD) 2. 5%, the rate of sample recovery is 99. 3 % ±1.00 %,and the purity of three turmerol extracts is 61. 13 %~67- 45 %,the total content of curcumin is 23. 43 %~23. 82 %.
