BULK MODULUS OF PROPELLANT BEDS AND INTRAGRANULAR STRESS

Jin Zhiming Song Ming (East China Institute of Technology)  
In this paper, the measured results of propellant beds with different charges and different initial temperatures are presented arriving at a law of their compression and the bulk moduli of the propellant beds are obtained. To the extent that the amount of compression is within 20%, the stress-strain relationship remains linear. With the characteristic method of one-dimensional wave equation, the paper analyses the change of the intragranular stress. Formulus for the intragranular stress is finally given, as seen to be of practical usage.
