FEM ANALYSIS FOR THE STIFFNESS AND STRENGTH OF THE BODY OF A TRACKED VEHICLE

The paper analyses the force applied to the body of a new model tracked vehicle when shooting,estabishes the mathematical model of stiffness and strength analysis and provides the mesh diagram of the body.with 3D shell elements,the paper calculates the stiffness and strength of the vehicle body under the lowest,medium and highest altitude angles.The results are given and analysed.The calculated results show that the stress and deformation of the upper armors are largely affected when shooting and they change evidently with the change of the shooting angle.The results also show that the structure of the vehicle's body is reasonable and its stiffness and strength can meet the design requirements.Suggestions to improve the stiffness and strength of the vehicle's body are finally provided.
