A QUANTITATIVE STUDY ON THE MOVEMENT OF PROPELLANT BEDS IN THE INITIAL BALLISTIC STAGES

An experimental radiographic procedure is put forward enabling it to trigger three times in succession in tracking the particles.The clearly depicted photos of propellant movement has been experimentally obtained at different ignition conditions within a 30mm barrel made of glass fiber reinforced plastics.Particle velocity and the distribution of density ate thus quantitatively obtained.Through analysis,the burning of and properties of movement of the propellant beds have been further revealed for the initial ballistic stages.
