UPPER LIMITS FOR THE COEFFICIENT OF VARIATION FOR WEIBULL DISTRIBUTION AND THE BI-LOG INTERPOLATION METHOD

Based on BLIE and MLE, the four upper classical limits for the coefficient of variation (CV ) of Weibull distribution are expounded. However these methods are retricted by the saxnple size and truncation type. Using the noninformative prior distribution, the exact upper Bayesbo lhoits for CV of Weibull distribution are presented. This method is suitable for all sample sizes with n≥ r≥ 2 ofⅡ -type and random truncation. A new table of CV of Weibull distribution is given and a bi-log interpolation method is developed for the tabulation. It is easy to use ; and its error is one to three order smaller than that of the linear interpolation method. These methods are illustrated with numerical examples.
