Hu Shaoyong Zheng Yingping (Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS),Beijing,100080)  
Concepts and methods of fuzzy arithmetic operations are presented in detail. The threatening degress(TDs) of objects are determined by a new method based on fuzzy operations. The proposed method expresses the TD of each factor approximately by triangular fuzzy numbers. Through the operation, the fuzzy numbers expressing the TDs of factors are synthesized to achieve a comprehensive fuzzy number. Then a defuzzified value of the comprehensive fuzzy number is calculated. The value is regarded as a determinative index of evaluation. It can reflect the true TDs of objects accurately.
