ON THE JET CURRENT MELTING AND SOLIDIFICATION IN THE INTERFACE OF EXPLOSIVE CLADDING STEEL SYSTEM

The paper deals with the formation of melting zone in the interface of explosive cladding austenitic stainless steel/normal low alloy steel system .It is discovered through test that the interface melting zone is formed as a result of jet current. The melting of metal jet current results not only from adiabatic sheering, but the friction between jet current and base plate also plays an important role in jet current melting .The solidification structure in the melting zone, which has an important influence on the quality of the cladding plate, has a close relationship to the technical process adopted in explosive welding.
