DESIGN OF WIDE ANGLE SPACE OPTICAL SYSTEMS OF LONG FOCAL LENGTH

Design of optical systems of long focal length, wide field and minimized size has long been the focus of discussion. When the aperture diameter of an optical system is fixed with the same orbit height, the resolution of ground objects can be improved by increasing the focal length. Meanwhile, by increasing the field of view the width of the ground covered can be widened. The system designed has a focal length of 10m and a field of view of 6°. All the 3 reflecting system surfaces are aspheric thus avoiding the effect of central obstruction. Evaluations have shown that the image quality is close to the diffraction limit.
