STUDIES ON THE BEHAVIORS OF ADSORPTION OF Nd (Ⅲ) ONTO THE FUNCTIONAL POLYMER-IMINODIACETIC ACID RESIN

Nd (Ⅲ) is statically adsorbed by iminodiacetic acid resin (D401) and some parameters which can be of pratical use are obtained. The best pH value for adsorption in a medium of HAc-NaAc is pH=5.73. The statically saturated adsorption capacity per gram resin at 298K is 179mg .Nd(Ⅲ) adsorbed on D401 can be eluted with 2.0mol·L -1 HCl, with an elution percentage of 100%.The adsorption behavior of D401 for Nd(Ⅲ) obeys the Freundlich isotherm equation .The adsorption rate constant at 298K is k 298= 2.22×10 -5s -1.The adsorption entropy change of D401 for Nd(Ⅲ) is 18.8kJ·mol -1.The apparent adsorption activation energy of D401 for Nd(Ⅲ) is 51.3 kJ·mol -1.The coordination molar ratio of the functional group of D401 to Nd(Ⅲ) is 3:1. Formation of chemical bond between D401 and Nd(Ⅲ) has been discussed applying IR spectrometry.
