A Computation Method for Thermal Field of Permanent Magnet Retarder in Automobile

A physical model based on the construct and operating principle of permanent magnet retarder for analyzing the non-stationary thermal field of retarder rotor in automobile was established,and the boundary conditions were defined.A formula of the non-stationary thermal field was derived using the Laplace transformation.At last,a bench test was performed.It is found that the testing data is coincident with the analytical one.The non-stationary thermal field can be analyzed and an exact relation can be reflected by this formula.The rotor can be optimized and the temperature rise of the rotor can be decreased,so the brake performance stability can be improved by this research.
