A Calculation Method for Supercavity Shape Based on the Logvinovich Independence Principle of the Cavity Section Expansion

A calculation method was brought forward to calculate steady and unsteady natural and ventilated supercavities based on the Logvinovich principle of the cavity sections expansion.Unsteady natural and ventilated supercavities disturbed with the changes of disk cavitator velocity and flowfield pressure were simulated by the method.The simulated results indicate that the shape characteristic of quasi-steady natural supercavity is distinct from that of unsteady natural supercavity,the change of unsteady supercavity length lags behind disturbances;the shape characteristic of natural supercavity is also distinct from that of ventilated supercavity,ventilated supercavity has longer transition time and larger oscillating amplitude than those of natural supercavity under unsteady disturbance.
