Experimental Investigation on Laser-driven Quasi-isentropic Compression

The laser-driven plasma loading is a newly developed method to realize plane,dynamic and quasi-isentropic compression of solid materials.It is also a compression mode with high strain rate.This technique provides a new way for the research on the characteristics of the materials' quasi-isentropic compression and equations of state.The compression experiments for metal materials were successfully in a 100 J solid.The interface velocity histories of the Al/LiF sample were measured with a Dopple probe system.The compression peak can reach 7 GPa with strain rate of 106 s-1.
