This paper deals with a method of body length calculation in Amphibia based on the clitellum of the vertebrae and the growth of 1-3 years old Rana chensinensis in Jixian County Tianjin China. The result shows that a drought affected the growth of 1-3 years old Rana chensinensis in Jixian County Tianjin China. Frogs grew significantly more slowly during arid years with more smaller adult frogs (♂♂41?mm,♀♀≤40?mm) present in the autumn. The dominant age class of Rana chensinensis in arid years was a year younger than that in normal years . The results show that Amphibia have compensatory growth after arid years.
