Progress in Seed Production and Mariculture Technology in Economically Significant Species of Clams in China

The main limiting factors in the mariculture of clams are seed production and mariculture technology. This paper reviews developments in research on reproductive biology and developmental physiology on several economically significant species of clams focusing on members of the Veneridae such as Ruditapes philippinarum, Cyclina sinensis and Meretrix meretrix.
