Spiders are sensitive to various stimuli. To understand the sensing mechanism, microreceptors on body surface of the spider Pholcus beijingensis were studied by scanning electronic micrograph(SEM).Four kinds of sensory hairs including tactile hair, trichobothrium, gustatory hair and spine, were found.Among these hairs, tactile hairs grow on all over the body surface while others just present on appendages. There are not obvious sexual differences in type and distribution of the microreceptors in the spider P.beijingensis, while females have much more single slit sensilla, which distributed in group on the femur, than males.
