STUDY ON EXTRACTINON OF BUILDING HEIGHTS FROM THE SHADOWS IN A BEIJING ONE IMAGE

This paper analyses relations between building shadows in an image and its real heights,presents the principle and method for estimating building heights from the shadows of an image,designs a technique to extract heights quickly.In an application using Beijing one images,the veracity that the errors of calculating the 70 percents building heights from the shadows of an image are less than 4 meters.
