Ordovician System and Conodonts of Tungshan and Xianning, Hubei

An Taixiang Xu. Baozheng
The present paper deals with the conodonts from the Ordovician in the Tungshan and Xianning district of Hubei province. Detailed investigations of stratigraphic sections have been made and nearly one hundred conodont samples collected in this area by the writers. The conodont fauna and zones are extremely similar to the Ordovician of Yichang.Protopanderodus? xianningensis An (sp. nov.). in general, morphological features close to Protopanderodus elongatus Serpagli (1974), but in differs from the latter in anterior margin of cusp at lower part is flat.Reutterodus costatus An (sp. nov.). The present species close to Reutterodus dep-ressus An (1979), but it differ from the latter in with a costa in inner base and lower cusp.
