Study of Interaction of Water-Soluble Fullerene Derivatives with DNA

The interaction of ds DNA with a water\|soluble C\-\{60\} derivative was studied using surface electrochemistry of DNA modified electrode and UV\|Vis spectroscopy.It was found that the absorbed band of C\-\{60\} shifted positively in company with the hypochromic effect.Co(phen) 3 2+ was used as indicator to study the interaction.The results show that this kind of C\-\{60\} derivative can interact strongly with ds DNA,the bind site is the major groove of helix.
