Solar Wind Origin in Coronal Funnels:An Introduction of the Article Published in Science, Vol 308, 2005

ZHAO Liang(Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences,The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI 48109)
“Solar wind origin in coronal funnels”, written by Prof. Chuanyi Tu et al., was published as a research article in Science on April 22 of 2005. Based on the observation of SOHO spacecraft and fore-free magnetic model, this article indicated the coronal altitude and magnetic structure where the solar wind originates. The background of the study of solar wind and the scientific idea and methods used in the article is introduced. Finally the conclusion of the article is explained.
