Speedy Coding of (2,1,4) Convolutional Codes and Its Decoding with Viterbi Algorithm Based On MSP430

In this article,a technique is offered,which can help us use MSP430 to code the punctured code generated from (2,1,4) convolutional code and decode with the Viterbi algorithm. Firstly,the coding theory and decoding technique of the optimal punctured code generated from (2,1,4) convolutional code are introduced here simply,and this kind of code is still a convolutional code essentially,and it just partly gives up the performance of the convolutional code in order to reduce the code rate and redundant information. The Viterbi algorithm is used here as the decoding technique. The purpose of this article is to implement the coding of the punctured code described above and the decoding technique with the Viterbi algorithm relatively quickly and relatively spending little hardware resource. The detailed way to realize this task will be given in this article.
