Particulate Trap Technology for Drainage Control of Diesel Engines

Many particulate trap systems, which are yet undergoing development or are being researched worldwide, are explored and summarized. The structures and performances of many kinds filter media and regeneration systems in particulate trap systems are analyzed and compared. The advantages, faults and technical feasibility of these traps are elaborated. In filter products, the technology of ceramic products is fairly mature, the optical fibre products have the most developing potential, and the continuous regenetating trap system and combined system are the most advanced ones which have the biggest potential of development. This paper summarizes the current situation of particulate frap technology and prospects the future development: the large-scale international retrofitting program will come into effect.
