Research on fault detection and diagnosis of rotary machine using Acoustic Emission method

WU Yan, XU Bao-jie, XU Xiao-li(Beijing Key Laboratory——Measurement and control of Mechanical and Electrical System,Beijing Institute of Machinery, Beijing 100085, China)  
The acoustic emission(AE) method is used for failure detection and fault diagnosis of rotary machine while running through signals that are acquired by AE sensors on the test rig. Some basic experiments are introduced on roller bearings with contrived failure. The analysis and evaluation results prove the feasibility of the acoustic emission method.
