A STUDY ON THE WEAR MECHNISM OF FILLED OILLESS SLIDING MATERIALS

The wear mechanism of a filled PTFE/Ferrous metal frictional couple was studied and it is indicated that the major wear models are fatigue wear and fatigue with somewhat abrasive wear.The formation and aging processes of the running film during oilless sliding of filled PTFE/ferrous metal frictional couple were investigated.The transfer model of the filled PTFE toward the metal counterface was also studied.From analyzing the adsorption dynamics of the metal surface to each constituent in the filled PTFE,a hypotheses of "n-p-n"structure between oxides on the frictional interface was proposed.
