SIMPLE AND DIRECT DESIGN OF MSE QUANTIZERS FOR SIGNALS WITH EXPONENTIAL OR GAUSSIAN DISTRIBUTION

In digital communication and data compressing technology, quantizer is an important part. Based on the relationship between equal probability quantizing and mean square error quantizing, the paper gives a simple and direct algorithm for designing MSE quantizer of signals whose probability density functions are Gaussian distribution or exponential function such as Laplacian distribution.
