Bayes Scene Matching Technology

For its utmost end control and guide precision, the scene matching technology takes the key functions in navigation systems. Many classic scene matching algorithms can only support the pixel level locating precision. For precise location, it should use the FFT scene matching algorithm, or the least square scene matching algorithm, etc. This paper introduces a new technology named as the Bayesian scene matching algorithm at the first time. Its essence is to look at the matched location as a stochastic variable, and to utilize the image information to obtain the conditional probability distribution, and, then, to use the large number of image specimens to calculate the Bayesian estimate. This paper studied on a theory and algorithm of the scene matching technology which is based on the Bayesian estimation theory and is compared with the classic LSQ matching algorithm through plenitudinous experiments. Based on the rough location accuracy of 1~2 pixels, the LSQ matching algorithm reach the precision of 0.3 pixel, and the Bayesian matching algorithm can reach highly to 0.1 pixel.
