In situ polymer membrane electrode formation by impregnationreduction and studies on ethylene sensing

Solid Polymer membrane electrode is prepared by impregnation reduction of platinum onto a Nafion membrane. The platinum salt solution added with ammonia is demonstrated as the appropriate impregnation solution. The concentrations of platinum salt solution and reductant are also the key factors for platinization.The response characteristic of ethylene catalytical sensor fabricated with noble metal polymer membrane electrode is also presented. The result shows that the sensor keeps good sensing character at near room temperature.
