Differences and Integration of Non-expansive and Expansive Character Education

Major differences exist in various kind of theory and position of character education in America. Different perspectives of the non-expansive character education are different in localization of tar-gets, selection of modes and operational strategies. Between the non-expansive character education and the expansive character education, their emphasis on private morality or public morality, habituation or rationality, direct teaching or indirect education, are also different. The attempts for integration based on 'the good life' notion, practice reason or education actual effect is propitious to carrying out character education in schools.
