In 1998,the U.S.Department of Education issued a series of reports on the vocational education data after the Carl D.Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology Act Amendments of 1998 was enacted.And Trends in High School Vocational/Technical Coursetaking: 1982-1998 is one of these reports.Based on the data analysis of the report,the article demonstrates the trends of American high school vocational coursetaking in the late 20th century.The conclusions are as follows: The economic condition,the labor market condition and the education reform during the late 20th century are important factors for promoting the trends of vocational and technical coursetaking.
