Automatic Optical Design by the Method of 0.618 Optimisation of Back and Forth Accelerated Steps

The present monograph illustrates a concrete application of the method of optimisation in automatic optical design. Main topics presented are. an introduction; necessity of a perfect program of ray-tracing as the foundation of automatic optical design; choice of the corrected aberrations and the establishment of an assesment function based on lateral aberrations; parameters and arguments; essential ideas of the program; destination of multi-dimension variables; general block diagram and a practical example.
