Numerical Simulation for Non Equilibrium Chemically Reacting Jet Flow

Aim The mathematical model of non equilibrium chemically reacting flow was studied and the re burning jet flow field of a rocket was simulated numerically. Methods With chemical kinetic model for 12 species and 11 steps reaction, the partial differential equations of chemically reacting flow were given based on full Navier Stokes equations. Difference schemes, one of which was third order ENO for convective terms, were used to discretize them. Results The distributions of parameters in the flow, including species, were obtained and the structure of the re burning flow was analyzed. Conclusion The chemical reactions were concentrated in the mixing layer of a jet and the flow in the core can be regarded as the chemical frozen flow.
