Towing (Hauling) Research on the Model of Modified Amphibious Vehicle

In order to improve its performance on water, modifications on the design of amphibious vehicle were made. Towing research on the model of modified vehicle has been carried through in a model basin. The effects of geometrical parameters of the front and back anti-wave board and wing board on its performance were analyzed and compared. Variety curves of navigating drag, power, vertical incline and rise and sink of the vehicle were obtained. The experiment offered reliable data for modifications, in the design. The research proves that the use of front anti-wave board can decrease the drag, stabilize the stance and enhance the maneuverability of the vehicle on water.
