Determination of Chlorophylls in Drinking Water by HPLC

The main goal of this research project was to determine the chlorophylls by HPLC.Chlorophylls were extracted using ultrasonic in acetone in 20 minutes.The determination of chlorophylls was achieved by HPLC using the mixture of methanol and acetone(V(methand)∶V(acetone)=80∶20) as mobile phase in the presence of 0.1% formic acid.The total quantity of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b in the Miyun Reservoir at different collection place were determined by HPLC using standards curves.HPLC can quickly quantitative performance the analysis and determination of chlorophylls in water.
