Study on the Release of Co from Retrieved Li-Ion Batteries by Bioleaching

XIN Bao-ping, ZHU Qing-rong, LI Shi-shen, LI Li, WU Feng(School of Chemical Engineering and the Environment,Beijing Institute of Technology,Beijing 100081,China)  
Influence of various conditions on the removal efficiency was investigated;especially the method to improve removal efficiency was studied.The results showed that when the concentration of sulfur was 4g/L,the initial pH was 2.0,the culture temperature 27℃,the batteries dose 1%,and the released concentration of Co after 12d bioleaching was 306mg/L.Decrease in initial pH and change in S sources greatly improved the bioleaching of Co,the released concentration of Co was 1682mg/L and the removal efficiency over 90% after 12d.
