Computer Aided Modular Fixture Design in the Environment of Integration

Describes the principles and methods to realize a prototype system FJIG for modular fixture design in an unified integration environment. Using the geometric data, feature data and machining data in CAPP from the feature based product model, FJIGcan automatically recognize the locating and clamping features and determine the layout of fixture elements. A workpiece fixture is assembled and the design results are given as the output.
