A Study of the UART Designing Method for Nios Ⅱ

The design of UART software and hardware for Nios Ⅱ processor application and some problems during the design process are discussed.The definition of UART registers and the calculating method of the baud rate for UART are supplied.Besides,the hardware connection of UART circuit is described.Then the usage method of the IP core in Nios Ⅱ system is explained.The data structure of UART software for Nios Ⅱ is also given.Furthermore,a simple and effective method of checking the UART communication and a UART interruption programming method based on Nios Ⅱ processor are provided.
