Conjugation Transformation and Involved Factors for Cyanobacteria

Cyanobacteria are prokaryote and oxygenic photosynthetic bacteria.Considering its unique characteristics,cyanobacteria have become the ideal host of gene engineering.Conjugation transformatio is a universal method in gene transfer of cyanobacteria.By conjugation transformation cyanobacteria are used to study diverse biological processes,including photosynthesis and its regulation,cell differentiation and N_2 fixation,resistance to environmental stresses.Methods of conjugation transformation are introduced in regard to vectors,plasmids and application.All of these will provide development of gene engineering of cyanobacteria.
