Application of Canonical Correlation Analysis in the Research of Tree Species Geographic Variation

Chen Xiaoyang(College of Forest Resources)
Canonical correlation analysis was applied in provenance research with data from provenance trials of Platycladus orientalis. The results indicated that canonical correlation analysis was effective for bringing to light the models of geographic variation, the climatic ecologic factors leading to geographic variation and the classification of provenance zones. The methods of canonical correlation analysis applied in provenance research also were discussed in this paper.
