RAPDAnalysis on the Genetic Relationship of Peach Blossom Germplasm Resources

Seven relativesandthirty cultivarsofpeach blossom weretested by RAPD(random amplified polymorphic DNA)markers using 36 arbitrary 10 mer primer.Theselected 10 primers produced 56 polymorphic,reproducible,clear bandsfor analysis. The results of UPGMAcluster analysisindicated thatthe genetic relationship between Prunus persica and P.ferganensis wasvery close;the closestrelativesofflowering peach was P.persica and P.feragnensis;allofdense compact peach group phylogenetic dendrogram were similar,so was pendulous stem peach group ;straight stem peach group wasnotsimilarinthe phylogenetic dendrogram ,thisshowedthattheo rigin ofstraight stem peach group wascomplicated .Atlast,theauthors discussedtheevolutionary relationship among peach blossom cultivarsandthe origin of P.persica cv.Bai Hua Shan Bi Tao.
