Effects of slope length and grade on soil erosion in the gully regions in Loess Plateau.

The paper studies on the slope length and grade in loess broken plateau region in order to arrange suitable measures for controlling soil loss. It analyzes the relationship of the slope length and grade which influences on loess soil erosion, according to the field monitoring and data investigating and some other researchers' findings. The result shows that the erosion amount is positively correlated with the slope length and grade, and the erosion module is positively correlated with the slope length. The rill erosion and gully erosion are seriously evident with the slope length becoming longer. Therefore, the beffer slope length of cropland is less than 15?m.
