Effects of Combined Holding Technology with Ultrasonic Wave on Short Time Storage for Cut Wintersweet Branch Twigs

The effects of pretreatment combined with both ultrasonic wave and preservative solution or ultrasonic wave alone on storage for short time of cut wintersweet twigs were studied. The conclusions are as follows: 7%Suc and 7 mg/L 6--BA have the best effect on vase qualities; combined pretreatment with both ultrasonic wave and preservative solution improve vase life, fresh weight and flowering percent of cut twigs, and decrease the abscission and wilting percent of it, and that shows positive effect. The mechanism of the combined treatment with ultrasonic wave are related with decreasing membrane permeability and MDA content, that is related to keep membrane stability. Besides, it is confirmed primarily that the combined treatment with ultrasonic wave could inhibit the abscission percentage of flowers on cut wintersweet twigs in 3 d by simulated transport. The possible function mechanism and application foreground for ultrasonic wave are discussed.
