Genetic relationship of Lagerstroemia indica by AFLP.

Affinities of 32 L. indica cv., L.subcostata and L.limii are studied by AFLP and 329 clear bands are detected with 7 parimers. Among them, 160 bands are polymorphic.The ratio of polymorphic bands is 48.7%. The results of AFLP show that the relationships between ‘Fenrun'and‘Aisheng Chuizhi Fen',‘Baidie Feiwu'and‘Cengyun Jixue',‘Hongdie Feiwu'and‘Lanse Yaoji', ‘Zizhao Yinwei'and ‘Baiyun Yingxia' are close, but all are strictly separated from ‘Bai Mixiang'. AFLP technoloy is a very effective method in the phylogenetic study of L.indica cv.
