Distribution characteristics of carbon,nitrogen and sulphur of plants and soils in Guizhou karst mountain area,southwestern China

This paper studies the characteristics of the content and vertical changes of carbon,nitrogen and sulphur of plants and soils,and the correlations between carbon and nitrogen,carbon and sulphur,nitrogen and sulphur of plants,soils and plant-soil system in Guizhou karst mountain area,southwestern China. Results showed that the average content of carbon,nitrogen and sulphur was 45.13%,2.02% and 0.61%,respectively. The content of carbon and nitrogen of plants was normal,but the content of sulphur was higher than that of other areas in China. The content of carbon,nitrogen and sulphur differed significantly in different species; while the differences of the content of carbon,nitrogen and sulphur of the same species growing in varied types of soils were not significant. The content of carbon,nitrogen and sulphur of limestone soils was mildly higher than that of yellow soils,but the differences between limestone soils and yellow soils were not significant. The changes of content of carbon,nitrogen and sulphur of plants with altitude were not significant for all cases,but those of soils were significant. Correlations between carbon and nitrogen,carbon and sulphur,nitrogen and sulphur in plants and plant-soil system were not significant on the whole,while those in soils were significant.
