Tree root water uptake model based on soil hydrodynamics Ⅱ:Stand

Based on Darcy-theory and Dupuit-hypothesis,the root system of a tree was considered as an inverted cone approximately.With the growth of trees,root systems interlace.When water-uptake radius of a root system was supposed as a half of the distance between two trees,the model of water consumption was established in the condition of tree competition and the transition to the model without competition was analyzed.The simulation results of Pinus tabulaeformis were consistent with the measured values from June to August in 2006,the average of difference values was 0.134 mm/d and the average error is 4.27%.The error in September was a bit bigger than others.
