Models for estimation of photosynthetic pigmental spectra in Phyllostachys pubescens leaves

Correlation and regression analyses between spectral characteristics and pigment content of Phyllostachys pubescens leaves was conducted using UniSpec-SC spectral analysis system (PP Systems Inc.),based on a model which had been established for quantitative analysis between the photosynthetic pigment content and spectral parameters such as green peak,red edge wave band and red edge position. The stablility and reliability of the model were tested. The results showed that the best models for spectral estimation of chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b,the total chlorophylls and carotenoids were exponential equations with the percentage of reflection of the red edge wave band as an independent variable. The models have desirable precision and accuracy in predicting performance of newborn leaves,one-year-old and two-year-old leaves of Phyllostachys,and are also suitable for estimating the photosynthetic pigment content of congenic species,such as Phyllostachys praecox and Phyllostachys vivax.
