Possible Effects of the Climate Changes on the Distribution of Pinus massoniana and Pinus yunnanensis in South China

Based on the climate changes and biological characters of Pinus massoniana and Pinus yunnanensis, using the Holdridge life zone sort model and the Ecology Information System, this paper respectively calculates the geographical displacements of these two species of trees. By the year of 2050, the northern distribution bound of Pinus massoniana might have been moved from 34°N to 40°N, the upper limit height above the sea level might have been changed from 800 meters to 1 130 meters, and the distribution area might have been decreased by 2. 6 million hm2. Although the trend of Pinus yunnanensis to move to the north is not remarkable, it may move to the east. The upper limit height of Pines yunnanensis might have been moved from 2 800 meters to 3 077 meters, and the distribution area might have been decreased by 2. 2177 million hm2.
