Water Balance of Dune Fixation Forest and Suitability of Artificial Vegetation

Cui Guofa (College of Forest Resources and Environment,Beijing For.Univ.,100083,P.R.China)  
This paper describes water balance of dune fixation forest and its suitable density,and gives the feature of natural vegetation and the basic principle to construct artificial vegetation.High stand density of dune fixation forest leads to deficiency of soil water,decrease of soil water storage and decline of water table due to low vegetation support capacity of environment in the arid,semi arid and sub humid arid regions.Distribution patterns of zonal and azonal vegetation and spatial heterogeneity of the environment should be considered in development of artificial vegetation.The dune fixation forest should be “open” stand,its density should be lower.
